Rocky's Favorite "Semi-Unknown" Artists

(Local Superstars, Mostly Unknown to the Worldwide Audience)

Rocky says: "I have always enjoyed well-written and well-performed funny songs.
Until recently, I knew of only a few ladies who had songs of this kind, most
notable among them: Blossom Dearie's "Peel Me A Grape." Now I feel like I
have accidentally stumbled across the Motherlode, since I first heard Emily
Kaitz sing some of her songs at Tom Skinner's Wednesday Night Science Project,
A wonderful band I play piano with on Wednesday nights. Now that I have acquired
some of Emily's CD's and have had a chance to listen to them a few times, I am
even more convinced that Emily is this world's greatest, most entertaining lady
writer and singer of funny songs, so I would like to advise you to obtain some
or all of her CD's. I feel confident that you will love the CD's and never regret
the investment. The more I listen to her material and the way she delivers it,
the more I love it. Emily's humor reminds me of the work of my favorite novelist,
Terry Pratchett, since in both cases the humor is hilariously, deeply funny, but
at the same time tends to make significant commentary on human behavior and foibles."
